Room 303; Late Wednesday Afternoon [11/20].
It was Wednesday, which was generally Prompto's big training day, since he didn't have any classes or work. Good run in the morning, some time in the weight room, the shooting range, some work with a punching bag. Then maybe one more run out to get some food to sort of justify the fact that he was too lazy to cook something and might actually want something a little more satisfying than Cup Noodle (DON'T TELL GLADIO, OMG). Quick shower, and then he and his take-out was just going to plop right into his computer chair, prop up his feet, and get to some video games.
Thrilling stuff, really. But you weren't about to hear Prompto complain about just enjoying a nice, simple, quiet day around here.
[[ or maybe not so quiet after all! Door and post are open, my friends! ]]

Although, Sidon...Nina thought about that.
"But, like, I asked him out," she said, "and, like, I know what he's like so, like, wouldn't the him I like enough to ask out have been a clue that it's... okay, really, that he's not like all my dreams????"

She didn't actually know how to feel about that, especially as it related to her being someone with anything anyone wanted to live up to.
"I mean, like, I talk a big story but I'm not............ like, I'm just a normal person???????????"
Which Noctis was not, admittedly, but that was a whole different conversation.

Of course, maybe that's just where his own mind went with his own inferiority complex regarding Noctis and Yang, Nina and Vette, Gladio an Ignis...he could go on...

"But I like him," she protested. "And, like, if I'm not normal then, what, who am I supposed to date?????????????"
no subject
"That's your take-away from that, Nina? Really? Also, news flash: nobody here is normal. So date whoever you like. Which is Owen, which you're going to do, so there. Problem solved."
no subject
"No, no, I'm not talking about my problem," of which they'd never touched on the real one in the first place; she was good at this, "but yours."
Nina leveled a look at her brother.
"By your own logic, you're just as not-normal as the rest of us," she said, "and, as such, you're totally just as good as all the people you don't think you're as good as."

Because now he was just getting confused, so maybe it was working.
"Point is, there's nothing to worry about with your date, you like Owen, I'm pretty sure he likes you, too, from what you've told me, and you guys are going to have a good time, and all of this fussing will be all for naught. So there."
no subject
Because consistency was for small minds.
"You should get to know Owen," she decided.

"I'd like to," he said. "He seems like a cool guy any time I've talked to him." Well, except that one weekend, but that didn't count. And was also understandable. "I've just never really had much of a chance."

And not, like, just a girlfriend. If they were even that? Were they? She had no idea.
"And I have it on good authority that you're the best big brother........."
That authority being her tiny, wee, self who'd fallen asleep on him three nights running.

"Just, like, maybe don't try that on every guy I think is cute................"
Seriously, Prompto, don't even.
"Though I guess the top contenders are mostly guys you already know............."

Which he was still pretty convinced played a pretty solid factor in how he'd even been able to score a girl like Yang in the first place, but he was hardly about to get into that. Especially considering that there were at least a few more now in recent semesters...

It really did. She approved.
