The Apartment above the Photo Hut; Sunday Afternoon [02/11] - PuppyBowl Birthday Party!

Prompto would be entirely honest; if there was anything a bit different going on in town, he was completely unaware of it, because he'd been singularly focused since pretty much Friday on getting things all ready and set up for Noctra's birthday party today. The decorations were an amalgamation of both puppy things and football things, with a both First Year Down! and Let's Pawty! balloons to really drive it home.

And, of course, the birthday girl herself was showing her appreciation for the theme, as well! Unfortunately, with her dad's excitement all morning in getting things up, she hadn't been able to nap like he was hoping she would, so he was holding his breath that the whole thing wouldn't make her too cranky or overwhelmed, but at least there was plenty to distract her in the meantime. Including a little help from Rain pulling in duty as Party Ruferee.


Then there was getting everything with the catering set out for the guests, which included your typical moddable game day fare, but especially puppy chow, mini hot dogs, and, of course pizza rolls! There were a puppy bowl birthday cake, even, with some vegan cupcake puppy players!

And, of course, near the entrance, there were plenty of party hats for anyone who wanted to claim their allegiance for Team Ruff or Team Fluff or just Team Noctra (he suspected those would be the most popular, really).

And for once, after everything was set up and copious amounts of pictures had been taken, Prompto actually wasn't feeling like he hadn't gone enough on the theme, and was feeling pretty good about this one, actually!

[[ open party is open! If you've ever talked to Prompto or Liz even once, you probably got an invitation. Heck, even if you've never talked to either of them, you could have ~mysteriously~ gotten one, too! Maybe it's your big destiny to meet your true love at a one-year-old's puppy bowl party, you don't know!! ]]

Watts nodded. "I admit, I'm looking forward to experiencing a 'Puppy Bowl' live for the first time." Yes, Prompto had helpfully provided some links to clips of past 'games', but that was different!

"Marc says it's not a proper game," Steven said. "But I told him that was true as soon as they called it football."

No, Steven wasn't a fan of actual football either since he preferred cricket. Didn't mean he was going to give up the excuse to poke fun at Marc a little.

"Perhaps not by human standards," Watts said. "But from what I understand, the puppies have a grand time, which makes it a proper game in my book."

"As long as everyone has fun," Steven said. "I'm given to understand it's for charity, not anything professional."

Steven might be a little disappointed when he found out there were no professional dog football players, in spite of what certain movie franchises might argue.

Steven snickered. "Well hopefully there's loads of those as well. Puppies who can go home happy they had fun and did their best."

“Mmm, that makes sense,” Watts agreed. “Given that he’s been alone for the afternoon and he didn’t get to participate in a sporting event.”

"On the other hand he does have his pick of all the furniture for himself," Steven said.

As opposed to when they were home and Raphael had to choose between furniture or laps, oh no.

With fish for him to watch as well! Probably far more interesting than any sort of sports bowl could have been.

"Still, we'll have to make it up to him," Steven said. "Loads of cuddles and pets along with dinner."

"Playing with toys as well," Steven said. Was he regretting not getting a new toy for Raphael in honor of the occasion? Maybe.

"We'll make sure he understands there's no one else for us as our number one," Steven said. He was looking at Llewellyn in a way which suggested this might not be solely about the cat. "Our hearts are claimed."

The absolutely smitten look on Watts's face hopefully made it clear that Steven's unspoken message was received. "It is nice to hear that out loud sometimes," he agreed.

It was possible he was also still thinking about maybe picking up a cat toy on the way home.
