Prompto would be entirely honest; if there was anything a bit different going on in town, he was completely unaware of it, because he'd been singularly focused since pretty much Friday on getting things all ready and set up for Noctra's birthday party today. The decorations were an amalgamation of both puppy things and football things, with a both First Year Down! and Let's Pawty! balloons to really drive it home.

And, of course, the birthday girl herself was showing her appreciation for the theme, as well! Unfortunately, with her dad's excitement all morning in getting things up, she hadn't been able to nap like he was hoping she would, so he was holding his breath that the whole thing wouldn't make her too cranky or overwhelmed, but at least there was plenty to distract her in the meantime. Including a little help from Rain pulling in duty as Party Ruferee.

Then there was getting everything with the catering set out for the guests, which included your typical moddable game day fare, but especially puppy chow, mini hot dogs, and, of course pizza rolls! There were a puppy bowl birthday cake, even, with some vegan cupcake puppy players!

And, of course, near the entrance, there were plenty of party hats for anyone who wanted to claim their allegiance for Team Ruff or Team Fluff or just Team Noctra (he suspected those would be the most popular, really).

And for once, after everything was set up and copious amounts of pictures had been taken, Prompto actually wasn't feeling like he hadn't gone enough on the theme, and was feeling pretty good about this one, actually!

Heck, even if you've never talked to either of them, you could have ~mysteriously~ gotten one, too! Maybe it's your big destiny to meet your true love at a one-year-old's puppy bowl party, you don't know!! ]]

And Liliana was dreadfully smug about that, too. It had been a lovely vacation this far, the coffee bar almost making up for the gods awful time it arrived at their door, the vineyards full of enough sensory input that it seemed like lacking eyesight barely mattered, and the food and wine pairings had been uniformly exquisite. Liliana also looked like she'd gotten some sun, bringing out the roses in her cheeks and adding a hint of gold to the pallor of her skin. A LaCroix worth of color, basically.

"It seems almost a shame to go back just to turn around and come home home tomorrow," she murmured to him. "Perhaps it would have been more efficient to bring our luggage with us." She sounded wistful - the last few days had been full of warmth and sunshine and a truly sinful amount of, ahem, scheduled fun.

"Mmm." It was a thoughtful hum, a rather agreeing one, really, as Ignis thought back over the last few days and what little remained and this very excellent point. "It does seem a bit....frivolous, really, doesn't it? To return only to practically have to portal back the next day? Not to mention, the timing of this event has rather cut a rather significant portion out of what would have otherwise been a perfectly productive Sunday....hasn't it?"

There was a brief pause, and then, perhaps, the ghost of the faint tug of a smirk in the corner of his mouth, perceptible, no doubt, only by those who knew how to spot it.

"Do you suppose," he mused, with a thought that had clearly only just now began to dawn on him, certainly not expanding from little ruminations that may have already been ruminated and pondered over his morning coffee already, "it would be very difficult, to arrange for an extension of our stay? It just seems a shame, if we haven't truly made the most of it..."

As if Liliana would be one needing convincing...

"Oh?"

Difficult to convince? Absolutely not. But Liliana couldn't pretend not to be surprised when he suggested it. "I don't think it will be difficult to arrange at all, my darling," she said, unable to hide her growing smile and uninterested in doing so either. "Through till tomorrow evening, then?"

It was one thing for her to miss a class and a shift at the Consortium, but surely, surely Ignis would wish to be home in time for his shift at Luke's...

"Or perhaps," Ignis ventured, oh-so-casually, even in the light of that glowing approval of a response, "through to Wednesday. Return a little on the earlier side of the afternoon, to give us a sizeable portion of the evening to unwind before settling back in for our classes on Thursday..."

"Why, I think that's a remarkable idea," Liliana said, sliding her fingers through his. A sedate answer, were it not for how her voice was warm as the Argentinian sunshine they'd left, threaded through with a slight wonderment even.

Ignis? Suggesting they extend their vacation? Through work?

...Perhaps Innistrad had put him through the wring--mmm, no. Ignis wouldn't extend a vacation simply because he realized he needed it. But he would certainly extend one if it made her happy. And...possibly...to give them more time together?

Either way, Liliana wasn't so foolish as to spend time debating the whys behing being given something she wanted. "I'd love that very much," she finished softly, curling into his side, her grip on his hand causing his arm to wrap neatly around her. "Everyone keeps asking how Argentina is, and it's incredibly difficult to encapsulate the myriad reasons it's been so wonderful."

Would it make things better or worse to know that, as much as Ignis prided himself in his job, he never really did have any particular great love for Luke's, and it truly was something he'd picked up because he had literally nothing better to do with his time.

And Liliana was, without even a question, something much better to do with his time.

His arm moved around her easily, hardly needing the guidance, and he pulled her in a little closer. "No doubt the extra time, then," he suggested, "would help to really ensure that we have a good grasp on how to best answer those probing questions. I know that I, if pressed, would find it quite the arduous task to pick a highlight."

"I know what I'd pick," Liliana said, voice sultry and deep in her throat. "But it's hardly a story to share with others."

...His smile. It had absolutely been his smile that first morning out in a vineyard, just them and their guide who'd been content to let them move at their own pace, walking carefully through the richly-scented earth, feeding one another grapes, talking about the wine they were going to make the next day.

And Liliana would give herself up to Sigarda and the rest of the angels before saying something so ~~vulnerable~~ soppy out loud, and particularly in front of other people.

So instead she leaned on tone and innuendo and let people make their own assumptions. "But then, I pride myself on having quite the skilled grasp on...things."
