Thanks to an oh-so-mysterious *winkwink* benefactor with a subtle, secretive olive branch of a distraction in mind, Prompto had scored a few tickets for a day in the sun and surf at pretty swanky water park, the significance of which was probably sadly lost on everyone attending. But the main reason this particular park had been chosen, actually, was because it boasted the continent's largest wave pool, which was perfect for when you had a nine-foot-tall shark prince to consider!

"I call dibs on riding Sidon in the wave pool first!" Prompto announced, once they got in and got all suited up for the park.

Because that was a totally normal thing to say.

First and foremost, Noctis had found one of the lounging chairs under the comforting shade of a large umbrella so he could sit down for a moment and start slathering some sunscreen on his skin. He honestly hoped that he'd be able to hide out here under this umbrella the whole time so it wouldn't even matter, but he knew who he was with. Between this trio of personalities, there was no way he was going to get away with being a stick in the mud, no matter how hard he tried.

He did think that a lot of the slides looked kind of fun and interesting, though, so that might be his saving grace.

It was a good thing the park boasted such an immense wave pool, because that was literally about the only attraction Sidon was likely going to be able to really partake in!

But you can guarantee that he was absolutely the star of the show while he was in there, and the whole thing, he felt, was very impressive, and he was truly having a blast!

And perhaps wondering if the impressive feats of Zora technology could actually somehow produce a wave pool of this magnitude for their own!

Given what world they were in, like, Nina was actually doing her best not to speculate on how these tickets had, like, come into play for today. Like, really...

But since Noctis was here and she'd only been told yesterday afternoon, Nina had gleefully flung herself into the distraction of a new swimsuit that was, like, modest enough for her, but hot enough that Noctis might, like, notice just how cute she was, while also making sure it didn't look like she was trying to throw herself at him or anything because, crush or not, she wasn't that kind of girl.

Between her hair and her swimsuit, Nina felt reasonably confident that she'd succeeded. Now she just had to hope he would, like, notice...

"What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she protested, hearing Prompto's dibs. "No fair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Yeah, well, Summer wasn't exactly known for her subtlety.

"Sorry not sorry!" Prompto sang, giving one of those braided buns on Nina's head a little flick with his fingers, because he could. Big bro privleges! "I'm sure there's still plenty to do while waiting your turn, anyway."

"Stop that!!!!!!!!!!!" she said, laughing. "It took work to get my hair like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

And to make sure it was sturdy enough to survive all the water park fun she'd be having! Honestly, his hair flicks weren't going to do anything to her hair so this complaint was just for show.

"And, hmmmmm, I guuuuuuuess I could find something to do.............," she conceded flicking her eyes over to Noctis, where he was settled under an umbrella, before leaning forward conspiratorially, "He can't think we're letting him get away with that all day, can he??????????"

"We should at least let him think we're going to let him get away with it," Prompto decided, following her gaze with a thoughtful rub of his chin, "and then, bam! We'll give him a harsh splash of reality!

"Seriously, though, if he thinks I'm not dragging him out on some of those sick slides, he is totally delusional."

Plus, imagine all the pictures of wet Noctis that needed to be had!

Like, be still her beating heart! Iris was going to be so jealous.

"And we'll need some time to sit," she allowed. "If only to get a drink and we'll probably get hungry at some point.........."

"We'll probably be starving at some point," Prompto corrected. "Playing around in the water and sun all day can really work up an appetite, and I'm already downwind of some of the food right now, and it already smells amazing."

Then he snickered.

"Imagine the look on their faces when Sidon walks up to get his food."

And then, a thought.

"Ohman, I hope they actually have pizza."

He was pretty sure that was the only thing other than fish that Sidon could even eat.

Which was super weird, dude.

That was really super weird.

"If not, like, I bet we could order in pizza," she reasoned, not really worried about the cost. Or how ridiculous that sounded. "We can figure it out later!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Problems for after some sun and fun!" Prompto agreed. "This place is already great, and we just got here, that's a pretty good sign."

"It can only get better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she agreed, flinging her arms about him for a quick hug just out of sheer exuberance. "And if any of us get sunburnt, I can fix that!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Well, if he was going to be getting a hug, Nina was definitely getting one back with one arm while his other hand patted her head.

And flicked one of her buns again.

It never got old!

"Oh," he assured her, "I am definitely getting sunburned."

He was honestly starting to feel a little scorched already.

You'd think if you were going to make clones, you'd at least give them skin stronger than parchment paper...

You would think, but that would have required a different genetic donor for the clones and, like, as if that had been going to happen.........

"Then I've got your back!!!!!!!!!!!!" she decreed, though she was also going to wiggle out of that hug with a squeal of faux-outrage. "Hands off the hair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"NEVER!" said Prompto, boldly giving both buns a flick, confident in the fact that he was taller than Nina and therefor his hair was a little safer (not that it would matter in the slightest once they got in the water, but it looked good now!), and then promptly started to bolt his way toward the wave pool.

Only to be immediately stopped by some lifeguard type blowing a whistle and telling him no running.

Like, way to ruin a perfectly good dramatic moment by doing your job, dude.

"Like there's probably not enough room for all three of us, anyway," Noctis pointed out, still a little...thrown about Sidon's growth spurt, even after first being exposed to it at Nina's birthday party.

Like, the dude was already huge! This was just...a bit much, my guy.

Just like this sun, as Noct lifted a hand to cover his eyes from the brightness.

Nina beamed cutely at him.

"It would be fun to try," she said, because just imagine it! It would be the best! "But if we're being left behind, then what do you want to do??????????"

Yeah, because that answer was going to fly with Nina.

Noctis shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know. Some of those slides look kind of interesting, I guess."

"Then let's go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she said enthusiastically, reaching for one of his wrists to pull him up if she had to. "If we go now, we can beat the worst of the lines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

But...but...he brought all this Brooding with him!

Noctis made a small, surprised noise as Nina pulled him up. Or he let her pull him up. Same difference.

"Erm," he said. "Which one? Do you think the lines'll be bad?"

"They'll definitely be worse in the afternoon," she said, though she was really just guessing using logic. "Let's do the really big one first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

She was also not going to drop her hold on his wrist, beaming up at him.

Well, great, now what was Noctis supposed to do? He couldn't just pull his wrist away if she wasn't going to just let it go, so he supposed he was just going to be led around by the wrist at this point. Which maybe worked out better, since Nina seemed to have a better idea of where they were going.

"Shouldn't we start with the smaller ones?" he suggested. "If we start with the big one, all the other ones will seem lame after it, wouldn't they?"

"Oh, I suppose you're right," she said, willing to go with basically anything since he was actually participating. "Should we work our way up, then???????????????"

"...is there a map, or something?" Noctis asked, looking around with a frown as he realized that the slide they thought they might have been heading toward didn't seem to be where they were going at all. Who designed these places?

"Ummmmm, I'm sure there is," she said, looking around too. "Like-----oh, I think that person's handing them out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Let's go get one," Noctis suggested. "And then maybe we can sort of make a plan."
