Nina's Birthday Party!! Argentum Residence; Insomnia, Lucis; Eos; All Day Saturday [05//29].

Prompto had been planning for this thing for a while and it was finally time for all his hard work to come to fruition! Nestled among dozens of other similar houses on a quiet residential street, the Argentum house was usually unremarkable, just one among many typical Tokyo Insomnian homes. But today? Oh, today was definitely different! There would be no mistaking which house was Prompto and Nina's! Pink, yellow, and blue balloons were tied to the mailbox, to the fence, even the corners of the eaves on the roof, and streamers of the same color dripped from the roof as well. A large banner reading "HAPPY BIRTHDAY NINA!!" was hung from the wall and could easily be seen from the street, which had been blocked to traffic for the purposes of the party. After all, they didn't exactly have a backyard, so Prompto had commandeered as much space as he could. Where else would he put the bouncy house??? There was also a table with snacks and beverages out there, and a costumed moogle out there to greet guests and occasionally put on a little show. There was a stereo pumping out some fun, festive music into the air, and that was just the outside!

Because the door was open and there was a sign that clearly indicated there was plenty more fun inside and that everyone was welcome to come in, where they'd find more food in the kitchen and dining room, including a very moddable extensive Build Your Own Cupcake Bar and featuring a fruit and macaroon birthday cake as well as a more traditional one, and then, in the living room, the guests would find everything rearranged around a makeshift karaoke stage, because that's right, everyone, there is definitely going to be karaoke at this party!

And just wait until Prompto started getting everyone together for the games!

Look. He'd never really had a stereotypical backyard birthday party growing up, and he knew for a fact that Nina definitely hadn't, either, and so that was absolutely what was happening today! So grab yourself a party hat (unless you're Nina! Then you get a crown!), maybe a few noisemakers and rainbow sparklers, and get ready to have a great time!

Unlike most of the people who'd show up today Nina knew good and well what their house and surrounding environs usually looked like and this... this wasn't it.

This was amazing!

Nina most certainly wasn't staying in one spot but, with her crown proclaiming her to be the princess for the day, it wasn't going to be hard to spot her!

She was wearing a pale green dress that emphasized the green in her eyes (at Iris' insistence) and, more importantly, and beaming smile because this was... this was...

This was a lot.

Try to be on the move all you want, Nina, because there was no way you were going to avoid an incoming birthday hug at two o'clock the moment Prompto had the chance to execute such a manuever!

Well, actually, for all intents and purposes, she definitely could probably avoid it, but why would she want to?

So be prepared to be totally birthday glomped by your brother, Nina, because that's what he was doing and he was definitely not just flying in for hug-and-go, he was there to linger and rest his chin on the top of her head before stating, "Happy birthday, sis," with maybe a little extra squeeze in there, too.

Nina leaned into that hug, squishing back.

"It's perfect," she said, beaming. "Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Prompto didn't need to see Nina's face to know that she was beaming; he could hear it in her voice, and that was all that was needed to make his smile go a little schmoopy and he sighed a little to match it before giving one more squeeze and releasing her from her birthday hug obligations.

And then carefully set her crown back into place after the whole thing definitely kind of knocked it askew.

He grinned at her now. "I figured you'd like it," he said. "And just wait until later!"

"What's later?????????" she asked immediately because he couldn't just say things like that and then not tell her! "And ohmygosh, like, I can't believe you got a moogle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Nina was going to take so many pictures with that moogle. Sorry to whoever was in the costume.

"Nina!" Iris not only had a bright greeting for her friend, but she also had a confetti popper, which she pulled the moment she was close enough to shower Nina with a burst of confetti and glitter and a laugh. "Happy birthday!"

Was she maybe a little bit jealous that Gladio would probably never do anything like this for her own birthday? Yeah, honestly, a little, but, at the same time, it wasn't really surprising that Prompto would, and, let's be fair, it's not like she'd been lacking in parties like this growing up, herself. Well, not exactly like this, but...

Which just meant Nina was going in for a hug to spread the joy.
