"But yes, that was what the car had. Three pedals and a gear shift. It was very confusing and complicated, but I don't know, that might have just been the quality of the instruction. I would very much prefer to learn on something easier, if that's all right. Again, I've now only been in a car once, which means I am also learning literally everything else people know about cars and driving at the same time - like what a fucking curb is - and simplifying at least one of those tasks will hopefully make learning both that much easier."
If she sounded cranky, it was because she still remembered the 'curb' argument vividly. And the horn argument. And--look, they'd had a lot of arguments.
